According to the exclusive findings of Novi magazin, six pharmaceutical companies whose managers were arrested in the action “Crab”, where they discovered the frauds of the head of the Institute for Oncology of Serbia Nenad Borojevic and his coworkers in the procurement of cytostatics, earned a staggering 888 million dinars thanks to the bribes in 2008 and 2009 alone.
According to their earnings, the pharmaceutical mafia has reached the very top of the most profitable organized criminal groups against which the Serbian State prosecutor initiated a criminal charge.
The biggest part of the earnings (precisely 823.867.465 dinars) was made in the cooperation with the Institute for Oncology; the rest, 63.823.981 dinars is a profit of doing business with the bribed doctors of the Clinical center in Nis, the Institute for Oncology in Sremska Kamenica, the Clinical center in Kragujevac and the Clinical-hospital center in Bezanijska kosa.
For the profit that reaches almost a billion dinars, the doctors were given bribes in millions of dinars, hundreds of thousands of Euros and in expensive gifts.
The data of the Department for the fight against organized crime of the Department of Interior Affairs of Serbia, which started , exactly, a year ago the action “Crab”, and which is exclusively revealed for Novi magazin show that Borojevic and the others received 37 million dinars and 110 thousand of Euros for the favoring of the medicine of their pharmaceutical company.
